Hello, lovely friends! I’m super excited to share this week’s spread with you! If you’re following me on Instagram, then you’re familiar with my “Colors” series I’ve recently released in my Etsy shop!
A while back, I had an idea to make weekly kits that focused on a certain color and an accompanying emotion. But as I was working on these kits, the emotional aspect sort of faded away and I focused more on making kits with bold colors.
I decided to do it this way so that these kits could be more meaningful to the people that used them. Maybe the “Orange” kit speaks to you in a way that’s different than someone else–and that’s perfectly okay! Plus I didn’t exactly want to associate the colors with the emotions they’re typically associated with– for example, blue and sadness.
The result was 11 different kits, each focusing on a different color. I thought it would be cool to create a rainbow in my planner, one week at a time. For the “finale” I wanted to create a rainbow spread for one week… which brings us to this week’s spread!
I didn’t do this “finale rainbow” spread immediately after my “Purple” spread because last week was Mother’s Day and I wanted to use the “Hello Spring” kit for that week. So I made a rainbow spread the following week— this week!
To create this look, I used 7 kits total. In order from left to right, the kits I used were: “Red“, “Orange“, “Yellow“, “Green“, “Breezy Blues“, “Blue“, and “Purple“. I know they say that the colors of the rainbow are “ROYGBIV” but my rainbow is apparently “ROYGBBP”. 😂 Hey, I like it, and that’s all that really matters!
Everything turned out perfectly except for the stickers from the “Breezy Blues” kit. My Silhouette was doing great…until that kit. It decided to cut everything just a hair off. Maybe one day I’ll finally master my Silhouette. Oh well. It’s not the end of the world. I still love how my weekly spread turned out. 😊💕
I decided to leave the bottom margins uncovered, even though they weren’t rainbow colored. I just thought the flower doodles were really cute!
The planner I’m using this year is the “Happy Mind Happy Life” Classic Happy Planner by Me & My Big Ideas. . Me & My Big Ideas no longer offers this planner on their website (probably because we’re nearly a third of the way through 2018 and this is a dated planner), but if you’re interested in checking out some of the monthly dashboards, you can check it out on Amazon.
So, what did you think about my rainbow week? The kits I used to create this look were 4 full US Letter pages long. I used almost half of the kit to decorate a week in one color, and used some of what was leftover to create this week. I still have a bunch of stickers left!
