Did you guys know that the Winter Solstice was yesterday? Wanna know why I’m so excited about it? Because the winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year. After that day, the hours of daily sunlight begin to slowly increase! โ
I’ve been counting down until the Winter Solstice for a little over a month now. My least favorite thing about winter is how short the days are. It’s the absolute WORST when you wake up and leave to go to work/school/etc. and it’s still dark out… aaaand then it’s dark by the time you leave to come home! It’s like you missed an entire day!
I tend to feel a little gloomier during the winter months. Probably because it gets dark so early, and it’s so cold nobody wants to go anywhere or do anything. I mean… I don’t blame you guys. All I want to do is stay home, snuggled in bed. Which brings me to this week’s printable…
So… remember the LA Dodgers freebie I made two days ago when I learned the World Series was going on? Funny story about that…
Last night my boyfriend came home and said he traded shifts with someone because they REALLY wanted to see the World Series game tonight. I asked him who was playing, and he told me the Dodgers vs. the Astros. I told him he must be mistaken because they played Sunday night. He just looked at me blankly and said “You really don’t understand sports, do you?” ๐
So, yesterday I learned that the Word Series is 7 games and the same 2 teams play each other 7 nights in a row to decide a winner! Plus, it really makes sense now why so many people saw my Dodgers printable and asked for an Astros one. I was starting to think the Astros were just really popular. Nope, they’re in the World Series. ๐
I couldn’t find any pics of Hello Kitty dressed in Astros gear, so this one unfortunately doesn’t have any Hello Kitty. But hey, at least you have an Astros printable at all, right? ๐
I am not a sports person. At all. I could probably count the number of professional athletes I could name on both hands. So anyways, I’m sitting here at home, and I hear my neighbors burst out cheering. And not just some of them. Like… a lot of them. Sounded like sports cheering. Is this like the play offs? The championship game? What sport is it???
So I go on Google to see if there was a sports thing going on, and found out the World Series baseball game is going on tonight! It’s the Los Angeles Dodgers vs the Houston Astros. Hey, I live near LA now! Woo-hoo! Go team!
A while back, I made a White Sox printable for someone who won a giveaway. A lot of planner girls loved it and asked me if I could make one for their favorite team. Well planner girls, I’m finally getting around to making an LA Dodgers one for you guys. ๐ Even better, when I was searching for pics to use, I found a lot of Hello Kitty stuff!!! So of course I had to include some Hello Kitty!!!! ๐

I tried to pick out washi that matched with my pastel unicorns theme for this week, but I realized… I don’t have enough pastel washi tape! How could this be?! Oh well… guess that means I just have to go shopping for more washi… ๐

Is anybody else a weirdo that peeks ahead in their planner and starts brainstorming how you’re going to decorate it weeks in advance? I’m still kinda in disbelief that it’s June now and not May anymore (Seriously! Last month just flew by!), so I thought it would be a good idea to peek ahead at July, because it will be here before we know it! The 4th of July is coming up, and I wanted to make a pretty printable kit to celebrate. I’m sharing it here on the blog a couple weeks early to give you guys plenty of time to print it out and stick it in your planner. ๐
