Yaaaay! Do you guys know what this week is! It’s my birthday week! 🎂🎉🎈 I dunno about you guys, but it doesn’t really feel like my birthday week. Maybe because my birthday lands on the last day of the week? Like it’s September for this whole week and then it’s finally October and my birthday.
To be perfectly honest, I’m kinda glad my birthday fell on the last day of the week. It means it was listed in the last week of the September weekly pages instead of October. Nothing against October, it’s pretty much the best month out of the year because it’s my birthday month 😂, but I hate the theme for October in my Happy Planner. It’s all purple and orange and black and spooky. Ugh, with bats and spiders and stuff. 🙅
Look, I’ll just come right out and say it: I don’t really like Halloween. I don’t like scary stuff, being scared, spiders, or looking at injuries. I even dislike the way Halloween smells: like cheap plastic and fog machines. Who would have guessed there’s a holiday devoted to all the things I dislike! Seriously, I don’t think Halloween could get much worse. Unless our taxes were due on Halloween. UUUUGHHH. 😣
But I try to keep this stuff inside, because I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade. There are so many people that love Halloween. I mean, not all of it is bad. There’s the whole candy thing and being able to dress up in elaborate costume and have people compliment your outfit instead of being weirded out that you’re wearing in an elaborate costume in public. 😂 It’s a reason to gather with friends and family, a way to let your imagination run wild, and an excuse to celebrate and be happy. 🎃🎊🍬💖
Ohhh, that’s right. You came here to look at planner pics, not to listen to some anti-Halloween rant. 😅 Well, let’s get to it then!
So this week, I wanted to pick something pretty that was autumn-ey, but also with some glitter or sparkle or something because of my birthday. I really liked the orange and goald leaf doodle already in my planner, so I wanted to make something that would match.
I set out to make a custom printable, but just ended up stressing myself out. The ideas just weren’t there, and the inspiration wasn’t coming. Decorating my birthday month shouldn’t be stressful, it should be fun. And stress-relieving.
So I closed up my laptop and took out all the washi tape that looked autumn-ey, glittery, or gold. And that’s it! That’s how I decorated this week!
Wanna hear something ironic? I set out to create a birthday printable, lacked the inspiration, and scrapped the project. Towards the end of working on this spread, I was inspired to make a new printable, go figure. See the little stick and leaf stickers I used? Those are what inspired me. I want to make a sophisticated rose gold fall printable. I think it would be sooooo pretty. 💖
This week included so many of the things I love: succulents, glittery/sparkley stuff, and fall colors. I guess you could even say it used pastel colors sort of a little. The only thing it’s lacking to make it 100% me is kawaii stuff. But don’t you worry, I’m definitely going to add some Molang or Hello Kitty happy birthday stickers. 💖
